Is Hunter good for outbound?

Finding a specific person's business email when you already know their name and company.

What Hunter is good for

Finding a known person's email at a known company

Domain search to see common email patterns at a company

A quick, UI-based lookup without building custom tooling

When Hunter is commonly used

Hunter is commonly used for exactly this: a quick, one-off lookup when you have a name and a company and need the email fast.

Where it tends to fall short

For our own prospecting at volume, we've generally built and used a custom permutation-and-verification workflow rather than a vendor finder — it gives us more control over pattern logic for markets where a generic finder's coverage is thin.

Best use cases

One-off lookups when you know the name and company
Domain pattern discovery before running your own permutation logic

We don't use Hunter as our primary email-finding method — most of our own prospecting runs through a homemade permute-and-verify pipeline we built specifically because generic finders don't always have strong coverage in the fragmented markets we work in.

That doesn't make Hunter a bad tool — for a known name at a known company, it's a fast, reasonable first stop. It's just not what we reach for at the volume and market variety we usually work with.
